Our Mission
Facts:
There is a cure for blood cancer, but not everyone has an equal chance at finding a life-saving match. Every 3 minutes someone in the United States is diagnosed with blood cancer. 70% of patients don't have a fully matched donor in their family. Only 1 in 430 registry members get called in their lifetime to donate stem cells. |
Our mission is to Engage students in the Be The Match® mission to save lives by:
Providing meaningful, unique opportunities for UCLA undergraduate and graduate students to learn about blood cancers and other life-threatening diseases treated by a blood stem cell transplant. Increasing awareness of the need for young, committed, racially and ethnically diverse registry members who can save a life. Holding UCLA campus-wide education/awareness events, donor registry and fundraising events and activities to give The entire student body the opportunity to join this social movement and global effort. |
